Inspiration

GOLF

It is a science, the study of a lifetime, to which you may exhaust yourself but never the subject. It means going out in God's out-of-doors getting close to nature, fresh air, exercise, a sweeping away of mental cobwebs, genuine recreation for tired tissues. It is a cure for care and an antidote to worry.

A seemingly new executive course just outside urban Woodstock, Ontario. A very nice clubhouse area and an exceptionally nice practice area including grass tee areas and many target greens to choose from. A Golf School is also provided, chipping green, putting green, and a nine hole pitch and putt, which is something I hardly ever see. If I lived in the Woodstock area this is where I would go to practice my game!

The course design was fairly nice which sported fairly short holes with wide fairways. However, wayward tee shots will put you in some heavy rough or have you negotiating one of the hundreds of small trees interlacing the course as there were really no forested areas.

There is nothing to special about the par 3's, not many water features or bunkers. Generally a nice easy course where you really can't lose a ball. The greens were nice and big, very receptive, very smooth and about medium speed. There wasn't a lot of slope to them, although some of them had some nice little breaks to them. It would probably be a really good place to learn golf for beginners or just plain high handicappers. The more experienced ball strikers may want to go elsewhere to really test their skills.
